The Republic of Seychelles is an island country situated in the Indian Ocean with a population of some 90,000 people and a capital at Victoria. Over 150 islands form the Seychelles made from granite based islands and coral islands.

The Seychelles were a British colony and were granted independence in 1976.

The tourist sector is important to the Seychelles economy employing roughly a third of the working population. The export of frozen and canned fish, copra, cinnamon and vanilla are also important sectors of the economy.
